There are many sites to submit your blog/website. If you want to promote your site please use forums, question answer sites, social networking sites(facebook, twitter,etc.). Social sites is one of the best choice to promote your site because it is easy and interesting to share stuffs on social sites.

Check your website in cache of Google: cache:your_website_name.com

You will find Time and Date of last crawled by Google.
